There is a huge craze among the young students for engineering. Mostly science stream students want to become engineer and opt B.Tech after the completion of 12th.

What designation will be provided after B.Tech?

One who have successfully completed B.Tech degree in any of its discipline will be designated as “Engineer”. If you are specialized in computer science and engineering then, your job title will be ‘Software Engineer‘, those specialized in civil engineering will be titled as “Civil Engineer”.

Course

The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) is the 4 year full-time undergraduate course leading to the engineering degree. The duration of undergraduate engineering course varies from country to country. Many colleges/Universities of India offers B.Tech programme in various disciplines.

Students as per his/her interest can be specialized in the following B.Tech disciplines:

  2. Electronics and Communication Engineering
  3. Electrical Engineering
  4. Mechanical Engineering
  5. Civil Engineering
  6. Petroleum Engineering
  7. Chemical Engineering
  8. Aerospace Engineering
  9. Industrial Engineering

Apart from aforementioned disciplines, there are many other disciplines available in this field. To get the title of ‘engineer’, you have to complete your academic education in any one of the above disciplines. After getting Bachelor of Technology degree, students can further specialized in these disciplines of engineering by pursuing M.Tech course.

Admission

If you want to take admission in IITs or NITs then, you have to clear the entrance examination namely JEE Advanced 2022 that is the second stage of JEE Main. All institutions grant admission to its B.Tech programme through JEE Main 2022. It is mandatory for the B.Tech aspirants to appear JEE Main for taking admission.

Some states also conducts their own entrance test for granting admission like BCECE 2022 for admission to B.Tech in Bihar state, TS EAMCET 2022 for Telangana state, JCECE 2022 for Jharkhand state, etc.
